YAKU is a 100% machine washable and OEKO-TEX certified merino.
It is a soft wool that will be particularly suitable for babies and children.

It is easy to knit and crochet, and offers nice stitch definition and even knitting.

The spinning is in Peru and is supplied by a manufacturer where 70% of the energy consumption is generated by a VESTAS windmill.
It also has a water treatment plant which cleans and recycles the water used in production and has also planted a tree plantation around the water treatment plant which contributes to the purification process and absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere.

For the benefit of the animals, the spinning mill only works with mulesing-free merino and is Oeko-Tex certified.

Like so many other Peruvian companies, the factory shows great social responsibility towards its employees, their families and the local community by supporting schools, health care and charities.
